Staff pay
Pay the team from the same book the bills are in.
Attendance, leave, salaries, advances and commission, kept in the app that takes the bills. What a stylist is owed and what they brought in are one record, not two notebooks and an argument on the 1st.

Meera K. · salary₹32,000
Commission · 10% of ₹1,12,400 billed₹11,240
Advance on 12 Sep−₹3,000
Leave · 2 days, inside the allowance₹0
To hand over₹40,240
Every line adds up by eye: 32,000 + 11,240 − 3,000.
- A salary is dated, so a raise in October cannot quietly rewrite September.
- Commission comes from the bills. A rate on each person's pay, worked out from the lines they are credited with. Correct who did a service and the money moves with it.
- Leave is priced before you agree to it. Three days off shows what they will cost, counting what is already booked.
- An advance is not an expense. It comes off the month it is for, not the month you handed it over.
- Attendance by exception. An ordinary month needs no taps at all.
- Each person's own pay month. Somebody who joined on the 15th is paid from the 15th to the 14th.
Why it belongs in the salon software
A staff app can keep attendance and salaries. It cannot see the bills, so commission is a number somebody types in, and the month a stylist disputes is the one nobody can show the working for.

Straight answers
Do I have to mark attendance every day?
No. Only the exceptions: a day off, a half day. An ordinary month needs no taps, and the sheet already knows who was in.
How is an advance handled?
It is recorded against the month it is for and comes off what you hand over at the end of that month. It is not an expense: it is part of a salary paid early, and counting it as both would understate the month by exactly the advances given.
What happens when somebody joins or leaves part way through a month?
Each person is paid for their own pay month, which starts on the day they joined, so somebody who joined on the 15th is paid from the 15th to the 14th. A part month is worked out from the same day rate the sheet prints.
Will the salary sheet come to me?
If you switch it on, the sheet for the month before arrives once a month on WhatsApp and by email, with the full sheet attached.
Can a stylist see what they have earned?
Not yet. The owner and admins see the pay sheet; a stylist sees the diary and the bills, not pay. A stylist's own view of what they have earned this month is planned, not built.
Can commission differ by service, or step up past a target?
Not yet. Today it is one rate per person, dated, so a change in October leaves September as it was. Rates by category and tiers are planned, not built.
See it on your own team.
